Leadership

Pastor/Teacher

David Williams

David Williams is the pastor/teacher of Liberty Hill Baptist Church and has served in this role since November of 2010.

David grew up in Indiana and was brought up in a Christian home. He attended and graduated from Temple Christian School in Connersville, Indiana.

Although David grew up in a Christian home and went to a Christian school, that did not automatically make him a believer. God brought him to salvation at the age of 5 after he had stolen a candy bar from a store. It was through this event that God used his mother to lead him to Christ. After growing in the Lord and understanding truth, he was baptized at the age of 10 at Connersville Baptist Temple.

God called him to preach when he was a junior in high school and he attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. During his time at college he had to return home because his father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. After his father went home to heaven, David attended College of Biblical Studies (formerly Crossroads Bible College) in Indianapolis, Indiana where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Leadership in Ministry.

The greatest God-given, earthly blessing in life is his wife Bree. David often says that he knows and experiences God’s grace every day because God has given him Bree, his greatest earthly treasure. They have been married since October of 2001.

They have 4 kids, Caleb, Cade, Cole and Kylee who is married to Nathan McFarlin and they have a daughter Ellie, the first grandchild. David says grandkids are AWESOME!

The Williams family loves to serve the Lord together as a family in any area that God directs them. Areas they serve: leading Bible studies, Biblical counseling, mentoring, coaching, leading church camps, singing, griefshare and individual discipleship.

Their ultimate goal is to do ALL things for the Glory of Jesus Christ!

Pastors who influence David’s preaching the most: Martyn Lloyd Jones, John MacArthur, Jerry Bridges, Charles Spurgeon

David’s ministry verse is Acts 20:24: “I do not account my life of any value not as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I have received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”

Some of David’s most notable statements:

“Our souls will never be at peace until we are forever in the presence of Jesus our Creator.”

“Whatever we give to Jesus is never a loss but always an eternal gain.”
